Rusted gutters, sagging runs and downpipes that were undersized the day they went on are all common on Townsville houses, and the last one is the most common of the three. We size guttering and downpipes off the roof catchment area and the rainfall intensity this region is designed to, which regularly means adding a downpipe or two rather than simply replacing what was there. Guttering is $48 to $75 a lineal metre supplied and installed, downpipes $180 to $320 each, so a typical single-storey house with 70 to 90 metres of gutter lands between $3,600 and $6,400; rotten fascia found underneath is quoted separately before we replace it

Why would I need more downpipes than I have now?
Because a lot of Townsville houses were guttered to a rainfall figure well below what this region actually gets. If your gutters spill over the front in a heavy storm even when they are clean, they are not blocked, they are simply full.
Is gutter guard worth it?
Under trees, yes, and it pays for itself in cleans within about four years. On a clear block it mostly is not, and we will tell you so rather than sell it to you.
Will you find rot in my fascia?
Sometimes. We photograph it, price it before we go any further, and you decide. We do not replace timber you have not agreed to.
