When a roof opens up in a storm the first job is stopping the water, not pricing the repair. We get a tarp or a temporary sheet over the opening the same day where it is safe to do so, photograph the damage properly while it is still fresh, and write the scope and cause up in the form insurers ask for. We then quote the permanent repair separately so you can see what is claim work and what is not. If your insurer wants their own trade to do the repair, that is fine, and you can still have our report.

Do I have to lodge the claim before you come out?
No. Make the roof safe first, lodge second. Every insurer we deal with expects you to mitigate the damage, and the photos we take on the make-safe are usually the strongest part of the claim.
Will you deal with the assessor for me?
Yes. Renee sends the scope, the cause statement and the photo set straight to the insurer and talks to the assessor if they want to walk the roof.
My ceiling is bulging with water. What do I do right now?
Turn the power off to that room at the switchboard, put something under it, and ring us. A bulging ceiling sheet is usually better drained through one small hole than left to come down on its own, and we will talk you through it.
